Surinam cherry /Eugenia Uniflora, is a big conical shrub or small tree that is indigenous to South America. Other names for this cherry are Pitanga cherries, Cayenne cherries, Florida cherries, and Brazilian cherries. Small fruits with an ovate to rounded, slightly flattened look are known as surinam cherries. Each fruit's skin is thin, smooth, delicate, and glossy, and it is strongly ribbed with 7-8 vertical ridges. Depending on the variety, the fruit's surface will change from green, orange, and red to red-blue and crimson when it is ripe. It is crucial to remember that Surinam cherries should only be eaten when fully ripe. Surinam cherries are delicate to the touch and easily come off the stem when they are fully ripe. The fruits will taste mildly earthy, acidic, and sweet-tart. Cherries are a good source of vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system, and vitamin A, which keeps organs operating normally. The fruits also have anti-oxidants to shield cells from free radical dam
