Ruttya Fruticosa commonly known as rabbit ears plant or jammy mouth is a stunning perennial ,native to the African continent. The name Ruttya was named in honour of Dr. John Rutty and fruticosa means shrubby and refers to the habit of the plant. The flower blooms usually bloom during late spring/early summer, mid summer and late summer/early fall. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies, and birds. It has average water needs. They have a varying colour, ranging from orange to dark pink/violet. Rabbit Ears is a beautiful vining shrub covered with very unusual red to dark orange two-lipped tubular flowers with brown markings resembling rabbit's head with ears. The flowers look like 1-2 inch hummingbirds with their wings swept back or, from the front, like rabbits ears.
