The fruit is big, conical, or round, green when not ripe, and maturing in yellow. The aromatic flesh is glossy white or translucent with a jelly-like texture. The skin of a ripe Rollinia fruit will peel off easily and the flesh is fibrous with a smooth consistency, almost creamy and contains small elliptical seeds, dark brown, not edible. Rollinia fruit has a mild-acidulous flavor with shades of pineapple, banana, coconut, and other tropical flavors. Ripe fruit is easy to cut into two or wedges.
