Ridan Exotic Fruit Plants (Salacca Affinis)

Ridan Fruit /Salacca Affinis is native to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo, and Singapore. This unusual shrub is mostly grown for its lovely, sweet fruit. The gorgeous, red, spindle-shaped fruits covered in snakeskin are borne near the heart of each plant. Although they are challenging to handle without gloves, they are well worth the trouble because they are simultaneously somewhat sour, sweet, juicy, and aromatic.
