Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while too little light may cause the variegation to fade. It can tolerate some shade, making it versatile for various indoor environments.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure proper drainage.
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity environments. If growing indoors, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a humidity tray, especially during dry periods or winter months.
Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures, ideally between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Protect the plant from cold drafts and avoid placing it in areas with significant temperature fluctuations.
Soil: Use well-draining, fertile soil. A mix of potting soil with added perlite or sand can improve drainage and prevent waterlogging.
Fertilization: Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). This supports healthy growth and enhances the plant's vibrant variegation.
Dormancy: Kaempferia species often go dormant in winter. Reduce watering during this period and allow the plant to rest until new growth begins in the spring.
