Cupassu/ Theobroma Grandiflorum fruit plant grows as a small shrub or bushy tree, native and common throughout the Amazon, it is naturally cultivated in the jungles of northern Brazil, Para, Amazonas, and Amapa, Colombia, Bolivia, and Peru. The pulp of the cupuacu fruit is consumed throughout Central and South America, especially in the northern states of Brazil. The Cupassu fruit is extremely similar to the cacao fruit. The fruit is ovular-shaped and has a chocolate flavor along with the brown and white peel. The fruit is ovular and has a brown peel surrounding a white, delicious pulp. Its high oleic acid concentration gives it a soft feel and a melting point that is comparable to butter. Cupuacu is full of nutrients and antioxidants that may be good for your health.
