The fruit is ovular-shaped and has a chocolate flavor along with the brown and white peel. The fruit is ovular and has a brown peel surrounding a white, delicious pulp. Its high oleic acid concentration gives it a soft feel and a melting point that is comparable to butter. Cupuacu is full of nutrients and antioxidants that may be good for your health. The fruit is a fantastic source of fiber, which promotes feelings of fullness, supports intestinal health, and helps control blood sugar.

The cupuacu needs a humid tropical climate, and grows best in fertile, well drained soils. Although the trees perform best with light shade, they will also grow well in full sun provided adequate soil moisture is there.
