Sunlight:

Crape myrtles, including Peppermint, thrive in full sun. Ideally, they should receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day for optimal blooming.

Soil:

Well-drained soil is crucial for the healthy growth of crape myrtles. They can tolerate a range of soil types, but the soil should not be too heavy or waterlogged.
They prefer slightly acidic to neutral pH, but they are generally adaptable.
Watering:

While crape myrtles are relatively drought-tolerant once established, they still require regular watering, especially during dry spells in the first year after planting. Deep watering encourages healthy root development.
Fertilizing:

Use a balanced fertilizer in the spring to promote healthy growth and flowering, but avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to excessive foliage at the expense of blooms.
Pruning:

Pruning is typically done in late winter or early spring, before new growth starts. This helps shape the tree and encourages more vigorous blooming. However, avoid heavy pruning that removes too much of the old wood, as crape myrtles bloom on new wood.
Deadheading spent flowers can also improve the plant's appearance and potentially encourage more blooms.
