Bangkok Chamba/ Syzygium Samarangense is a hybrid variety that came from Bangkok. The fruit will expand outwards and have a slight concavity in the center of the underside of the "bell" when it is fully ripe. Wax apples in good health have a slight gloss about them. A ripe wax apple only looks like an apple on the outside, in spite of its name. Although it is virtually as delicious as an apple, it lacks the apple's aroma and solidity. The wax apple's flavor is equivalent to that of a snow pear, and its proportion of liquid to the flesh is like that of a watermelon. The flesh of the wax apple has a very loose weave in contrast to either apple or watermelon. In the center is a seed enclosed in a mesh that resembles cotton candy. This mesh can be eaten.
